Why Varsity Hockey?
For student-athletes serious about continuing on to junior hockey in either the OHL, NCAA or USports (formerly CIS), varsity hockey is the perfect bridge from minor hockey. The integration of skill development, strength and conditioning, and team practices are built into the daily academic schedule, allowing for a structured, disciplined program during this demanding time in the student-athlete’s life. Players on our Varsity team gain exposure by playing in a league consisting of showcase tournaments and attending various universities and colleges throughout Canada and the United States. Most importantly, our student-athletes gain a solid education so they will be well prepared for post-secondary education and scholarships. Players having completed their U16 year are faced with many options and we believe, for many, playing on our Varsity Falcons team is an important one to consider for the following reasons:
- A private school education;
- An intense hockey program, both on and off the ice, with professional coaches and trainers, combining a mixture of skill development and systems practice;
- Team and individual video analysis and classroom sessions;
- Exposure to OHL, NCAA, USports, and Junior teams;
- A flexible schedule designed to maximize development and maintain high academic standards including having practices held throughout the day; and
- Mandatory team “Study Hall” on road trips.
Why Victus Varsity Falcons?
The goal of Victus Academy is to combine (1) a strong education at a private school committed to preparing its students for post-secondary education, including SAT preparation, with (2) a professional calibre hockey and strength and conditioning program, while still allowing its students to showcase their talents.
