Are students still able to play on their rep team?
Yes, students at Victus will still play for their local rep teams. Our goal is to help players perform their best for their team.
Does Victus Academy have a school team that will play against other schools?
Yes, Victus Academy will be offering a Varsity U18 team that will play in tournaments against other schools throughout Canada and the USA. It is coached by Todd Hoffman and is meant to provide student-athletes an opportunity to showcase their talents and gain exposure in addition to the skill development program that Victus provides. What guidance is offered for academic and athletics?
The great thing about Victus Academy is that we have a community of teachers, coaches, and staff that all have the best interests of our student-athletes in mind and have a variety of connections to university and colleges as well as Junior hockey and NCAA programs. Directors of Student-Athlete Development Todd Hoffman and Robert Radford have extensive hockey knowledge and connections which help promote our student-athletes. Director of Hockey Operations Mike Ellis is the Director of Skill Development for the Tampa Bay Lightning and a skill development coach for the Canadian Women’s National Team. We also provide guidance for our high school students for University/College applications.
Does Victus Academy have specialized goalie training?
Yes, we have Paul Gibson on staff as our goaltending coach. Paul is the goaltending coach of the OHL’s Owen Sound Attack and works as a goaltender consultant for Hockey Canada. More detailed bios can be found here.
Where are the students’ classrooms?
All classes take place at Sportsworld Arena – classrooms are located on the second floor.
How many students are in each class?
Each grade has a dedicated classroom, with 10-15 students in the class. The small class sizes are important to us to ensure the students have sufficient individual attention so they have the best opportunity to succeed academically.
What classes are offered at Victus Academy?
Victus Academy uses the Ontario Curriculum as its academic base and enriches and accelerates this base beyond a publicly funded curriculum. Students will complete the requirements for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
Does Victus provide meals?
Victus will not provide meals for students, however there will be blenders and microwaves available for students to use.
Will there be transportation available?
We will provide transportation for all school-related trips, but it will be the responsibility of families to get their students to and from school every day. We would be glad to help coordinate carpooling with families interested in doing so.
Can I receive tax deductions for tuition?
Yes, there is a tax deduction that can be claimed, but we encourage all families to consult their accountant about the specifics.

Does Victus have boarding/residence options for students?
Yes, we have the capacity to provide housing for students coming from out of town. Please contact us for more details regarding this.
