6 Victus Academy Students Drafted into OHL

Victus Academy was well-represented at the 2019 OHL Priority Selection Draft as 6 student-athletes were chosen! Justin Ertel, Braeden Bowman, Ryan Cook, and Matthew Sop are all current students at the school and Marko Sikic and Skate Skalde are former students.

Justin Ertel, forward for the Toronto Red Wings, was drafted to the North Bay Battalion in the 3rd Round (54th overall). This is his first year at Victus Academy and had a very successful season, finishing 2nd in the prestigious OHL Cup. Braeden Bowman, forward for the Kitchener Jr. Rangers, was drafted to the Guelph Storm in the 5th Round (96 overall). This is his 3rd year at Victus Academy. Braeden speaks on his reaction to being drafted here.

Matthew Sop, forward for the Kitchener Jr. Rangers, was drafted to the Kitchener Rangers in the 7th Round (135 overall). This is his 2nd year at Victus Academy. Matt speaks on his reaction to being drafted here.

Ryan Cook, defence for the Guelph Jr. Gryphons, was drafted to the Barrie Colts in the 12th Round (227 overall). This is his 3rd year at Victus Academy and he talks about how Victus Academy has helped him achieve his goals in the following video.

Marko Sikic, forward for the Kitchener Jr. Rangers, attended Victus for Grade 9 and was drafted to the Guelph Storm in the 3rd Round (55th overall). Marko speaks on his reaction to being drafted here.

Skate Skalde, forward for the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs U16 team, attended Victus for Grades 8-9 and was drafted to the Oshawa Generals in the 14th Round (278 overall).
