Kai attended Victus Academy for the start of his Grade 12 year from 2020-2021, leaving due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During the summer of 2021, he signed as a free agent with the Mississauga Steelheads, where he is currently playing. In September 2022, he signed an entry level contract with the Florida Panthers
