Grade 9 Student Ava Murphy Excelling on Multiple Stages
Grade 9 student Ava Murphy was recently invited by Toronto Maple Leafs President Brendan Shanahan to participate in the “Fuelling the Future Invitational Camp,” sponsored by the Toronto Maple Leafs and Gatorade, as one of the top 16 boys and 16 girls in the 2005 age group in Ontario:
It was really unbelievable. When I first heard about it I was so excited and then just stepping into the arena and getting to see the change room with our name tags, that’s when it all sunk in.
Ava also speaks about Victus Academy as “a really good atmosphere to be in with high competition” and, as one of the older girls at Victus, is proud to serve as a role model for the younger girls! She also credits coach Mike Ellis’s training as getting her one step closer to her dreams of signing NCAA D1.
