Victus U18 Ties A21 in First Home Exhibition Game

Victus Academy’s first ever U18 game was well attended by the student-body, parents, and teachers and it did not disappoint. On the first shift, Dean Jackson was sent on a breakaway and nearly had Victus Academy’s first ever U18 goal, but was robbed by the A21 goaltender. After some good chances on both ends, A21 struck with 33 seconds remaining in the first and after one, the home team was down by 1. Midway through the second, AP Gianfranco Commisso sent the crowd into a frenzy with a perfect shot from the top of the circles tying the score at one. Assists went to Josh Stephens and Reese Stanley. However, the score was broken shortly after as A21 scored on the powerplay and after a disallowed goal due to offsides, Victus remained down 2-1. However, early in the third, Corson Myers evened the score back up by banging home his own rebound. Assists went to Commisso and Jason Gee. Despite hitting the cross bar, some close calls near the end of regulation, and an exciting 3-on-3 overtime, no team could break the tie and the final was 2-2.

Victus now goes back to Windsor tomorrow as A21 hosts them in the second game of the home-at-home series.
