Victus Academy Raises Over $3,700 for The Terry Fox Foundation
On October 1st, 2020 Victus Academy honoured Terry Fox by completing their fourth annual “Terry Fox Skate” by doing 55 laps around the rink (approximately 5km). By lacing up their skates instead of their shoes, they show their unique way of support for the Marathon of Hope. The Terry Fox Run was first held in 1981 and since then has grown with over 60 countries involved and it is now the world’s largest one-day fundraiser for cancer research. Thanks to the help of students, staff and anonymous donations, Victus Academy raised a total of $3,761 exceeding our goal of $2,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation. As Terry Fox said “It took cancer to realize that being self-centered is not the way to live. The answer is to try and help others.”
