Grade 10 Student Matthew Sop Gets Chance with Hometown Team
Grade 10 student Matthew Sop is in his 2nd year at Victus Academy and was recently drafted in the 7th Round (135th overall) to the OHL’s Kitchener Rangers. Matt is a Kitchener native and just completed his Minor Midget season with the Kitchener Jr. Rangers scoring 40 points in 33 regular season games.
He was recently featured in The Record about his chance to make his hometown team at camp and is quoted as saying:
“It’s going to be crazy,” said Sop, who attends Kitchener hockey school Victus Academy. “It’s a lot higher pace. I have to get my game going right away.”
